I am pleased to advise on behalf of the ACBC Board that after an extensive search for a coach, Ray Emerson has been appointed to the role of Head Coach for the 2025/26 season. Ray has extensive bowls experience (40+ years) that has been as a coach and player and has played with our club in the past. Some of you will know him from his most recent role at the St. Leonards Bowling Club. Ray has, across his bowls journey won a number of club and regional singles titles and been a Victorian and NSW state representative in Over 60’s competitions. Ray is proposing the following range of activities as he takes up the coaching role: Run an information session with all bowlers that outlines. expectations, etc for the season ahead. Improve understanding of roles people are required to play in the team. Establish a training regime to improve the draw bowling skills of all team members – enable consistency. Work with other club coaches (further announcements to come on this) to assist with implementing training and skills drills. Conduct group sessions to focus on: Playing bowls under pressure. Potential game plans. Body Language/Behaviour. Shot selection. Please join with me in welcoming Ray to our club and we look forward to an exciting season 2025/26.
